L’Affratellamento Theatre

Designing Bold, Inclusive Posters for Shakespeare’s Classics

For the Affratellamento Theatrs in Florence, I had the opportunity to design posters for three iconic Shakespeare plays: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Tempest, and Much Ado About Nothing.

These productions brought a modern, inclusive twist to the classics, featuring strong female leads and queer narratives that challenge traditional interpretations.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Whimsy and Wonder

The poster for A Midsummer Night’s Dream features a vibrant yellow background, placing Bottom’s iconic donkey head at the center, capturing the play’s whimsical and fantastical spirit.

The Tempest: Power and Turmoil

For The Tempest, I illustrated a powerful wave ready to crash, symbolizing the chaos and transformation at the heart of the play. A striking green and blue palette amplifies the drama.

Much Ado About Nothing: Celebration and Intrigue

The Much Ado About Nothing poster features a festive party mask, reflecting the play’s themes of masquerade, romance, and deception. The pine green background and fuchsia hues draw attention to the intrigue of the narrative.
